Chinese Trade and Investment opportunities to be presented at FREE event
The Tamworth Business Chamber in conjunction with the Namoi Group of Councils will hold a FREE event on Thursday 1st February 2018 in the Passchendaele Room, Town Hall.
The event will feature Mr Tony Zhang, NSW Trade & Investment Commissioner for North China who will be visiting the Namoi region at this time ahead of member Councils undertaking a delegation to China in March 2018.
The event is FREE for the entire community, with Tamworth Business Chamber President Jye Segboer encouraging businesses interested in hearing about access to trade and investment with China to attend.
“The FREE event will provide an opportunity to hear an outline of proposed activities between the Namoi Group of Councils, Tamworth Regional Council and China and to encourage investment and access to trade with China.”
Mr Tony Zhang was appointed as Trade & Investment Commissioner for North China and established the NSW Government Business Office in Shanghai in August 2009. Tony leads the NSW Shanghai Office to attract Chinese investments into Sydney and NSW and assist NSW companies in doing business in China. Tony is also responsible for building and maintaining the relationship with Chinese government at all levels.
Prior to his current role, Tony was Trade Commissioner at the Australian Embassy in Beijing. His team was responsible for the sectors of financial services, mining, energy, food and beverage and helping Australian companies to conduct business in China.
He also managed the Austrade Qingdao Office in Shandong Province. Tony served at Austrade Sydney Office as a Senior Export Adviser before moving to China in early 2007. He assisted hundreds of Australian companies to export products or establish business in China.
