At a recent council meeting, Councillors agreed to put our Electric Vehicle Strategy and Policy on public exhibition for a period of 28 days and we want your feedback.

So, what does this mean for businesses in our region?

First and foremost, the proposed strategy and policy will provide clear guidelines for companies seeking to invest in our region. By facilitating the installation of EV chargers, we aim to create a more welcoming environment for businesses looking to embrace sustainable practices and cater to the growing EV market.

Additionally, our Electric Vehicle Strategy and Policy are designed to enhance the tourism sector in our region. By supporting EV public chargers near the CBD, we aim to attract tourists and encourage them to explore and invest in our retail stores, eateries, and other attractions while they wait for their vehicles to charge. This initiative not only promotes economic growth but also positions Tamworth as a forward-thinking and environmentally conscious destination.

As business owners, your input and feedback are invaluable in shaping the future of our region. We encourage you to participate in the public exhibition of the Electric Vehicle Strategy and Policy, which will be available for review until Thursday 25 April 2024.  To do this, we encourage you to read the Policy and Strategy, and provide feedback on the contents of the documents. This feedback will be taken into consideration when preparing the report for Councils decision.

Thank you for your time in completing this feedback form. Together we can move towards building a sustainable region and support economic growth.
