Advocacy

Why We Advocate

The Tamworth Business Chamber advocates for the interests of local businesses and the broader business community in Tamworth, New South Wales. Here's why and how we advocate:
Economic Development:
By advocating for local businesses, we aim to foster economic growth and development within the Tamworth region. This can lead to job creation, increased investment, and overall prosperity for the community.
Business Interests: The Chamber represents the collective interests of its members, helping to address issues that affect local businesses, such as regulatory changes, infrastructure needs, and market opportunities.
Support for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs): Many local businesses are SMEs that might not have the resources to advocate for themselves. The Chamber provides a unified voice to ensure their concerns and needs are addressed.

How We Advocate

Lobbying and Representation:
We engage with local, state, and federal governments to represent the interests of businesses. We lobby for policy changes, funding, or infrastructure improvements that benefit the business community.
Networking and Events: We host and organise events, seminars, and networking opportunities to help businesses connect with each other, share knowledge, and collaborate on common issues. These gatherings also provide a platform to raise concerns and discuss solutions with policymakers.
Information and Resources: We can provide access to valuable information, resources, and support to our members, helping them navigate regulatory changes, access funding, and take advantage of business opportunities.
Advocacy Campaigns: We run campaigns to raise awareness about key issues affecting local businesses. This includes hosting leadership forums that bring together key stakeholders, including business leaders, policymakers, and community representatives, to discuss critical issues, share insights, and develop strategies for addressing local and regional challenges.
Consultation and Feedback: We collect feedback from our members on various issues and we use this information to inform our advocacy efforts, ensuring that our initiatives reflect the needs and concerns of the local business community.
Referral to the Business NSW Alliance Program: All members have the opportunity to join the Business NSW Alliance Program, which offers additional resources, support, and advocacy services through a broader network. This program connects local businesses with a wider range of tools and expertise, enhancing their ability to address challenges and seize opportunities. By leveraging this alliance, the Chamber strengthens its advocacy efforts and provides its members with greater access to statewide resources and support.
