My background is in finance, sales, marketing and advertising. I have been self-employed for over 30 years working with my wife, Wendy. We have owned several businesses and over the past five years have been employees or doing relief management of properties, mainly in Queensland. We work well as a team with Wendy doing admin and front of house, while I attend to the running of the business, dealing with Body Corporate issues, maintenance and ensuring tasks are completed accordingly. I am highly motivated and enjoy a challenge. My main strengths are in marketing and innovation. If I am unable to do a job due to inability, I ensure that I get the right people to complete the task and get things done efficiently and in good time.
I am open to change and embrace new ideas that create efficiency in the workplace. I am a people manager, having had a number of businesses over the years including, three KFC Franchises, a Motel, a Hotel, and Management Rights, and several other businesses with staff numbers from five to 120.
I like to get involved in the community and have been on several Boards and Committees:
President of Cowra Chamber of Commerce, Vice President of Cowra Tourist Association and Chair of the Cowra Japanese Gardens Committee, Board member of the Cowra Economic Development Committee, Board Member of the International KFC Franchisees, National President of Australian Resident Accommodation Managers Ass Inc (ARAMA) and more recently Vice President of the Greater Southern Gold Coast Chamber of Commerce.
My hobbies and interests are cooking, travelling and I like socialising with friends, family and the occasional round of golf (it does spoil a good walk)
I wish to nominate for a position on the Board as I feel I can contribute to the further growth of the Chamber given the experience I have gained in a number of businesses and positions that I have held over my varied career.
