Tamworth's Apollo Engineering: Leading the Way as Manufacturer of the Year with Innovation, Sustainability, and Growth

Apollo Engineering, based in Tamworth, NSW, is honored to be named Manufacturer of the Year (50+ employees) at the prestigious Hunter Manufacturing Awards. As a leader in engineering and manufacturing, Apollo proudly serves Newcastle, the Hunter region, and global markets with their high-quality automated parts washers and expanded contract manufacturing services.

Established 30 years ago, Apollo Engineering has grown significantly, particularly under David and Karina Errington's ownership since 2018. David, who began as an apprentice fitter and machinist at Apollo, has led the company's transformation into an advanced manufacturing powerhouse.

Apollo's journey started with engine reconditioning, evolving from the challenge of cleaning oily parts to developing automated washers. A standout innovation is their patented centrifugal filtration system, extending chemical life from two to over ten years, yielding substantial cost savings and environmental benefits.

Under David's vision, Apollo has invested in new equipment and upskilled their team, including multiple 12KW Bystronic laser cutters, CNC presses, lathes and machining centres and advanced 5-axis mill-turn machines. They've expanded robotic capabilities for welding and machine tending, enhancing production efficiency.

Apollo Engineering expanded their facility to 5,500 square meters and doubled their workforce since 2018. This growth supports expanded contract manufacturing services: laser cutting, CNC folding and machining, fabrication, painting, and assembly, handling projects of any size with precision.

Their commitment to sustainability is evident in their new product, Biofeed, which converts food waste into nutrient-rich by-products, addressing waste management challenges sustainably and contributing to the circular economy.

Apollo Engineering attributes their success to their dedicated team, continuously improving processes, products, and services.

Looking ahead, Apollo remains committed to growth and innovation, expanding manufacturing capabilities to meet evolving customer needs while emphasizing quality, customer satisfaction, and competitiveness.
