Tamworth Business Chamber is excited to announce that entries are now open for the region’s own Quality Business Awards. Now in its 40th year, the Quality Business Awards recognise the many impressive business success stories throughout the Tamworth region and provide an important platform for the local business community to network.
Tamworth Business Chamber President Matthew Sweeney says “the Quality Business Awards are a great opportunity to showcase the hard work and dedication of the local business community. “These awards are an opportunity to shine a light on the incredible businesses that drive our local economy; from businesses who have operated in the region for many years to the newcomers who are making their mark in Tamworth, Nundle, Manilla, Barraba and towns in between. “With a total of 29 awards in this year’s program, we are calling on the community to get behind the Customer Service Award categories and reward their favourite local business with a nomination, whilst business owners and operators are encouraged to nominate themselves in one of the aligned categories,” said Mr Sweeney.
No stranger to the Quality Business Awards nomination process, Lou Brock from She’s My Travel Agent, 2023 winner of the Excellence in Customer Service in Tourism, Sport and Entertainment Award, believes participation in this year’s Awards offers a unique opportunity for the business community. “By going through the Awards’ process, you get to share what your business is doing and be measured against other businesses in similar categories. “I found that just applying for a Quality Business Award helps to create the motivation to improve your management practices and be innovative. And, if you are fortunate to win an Award, it is humbling to receive this accolade in a room full of your peers and all of the businesses you know and admire” she said.
Each year, the Quality Business Awards culminate in gala dinner attended by over 800 people from all corners of the business community. “Our Awards program and gala event is among the best in Australia, and it just wouldn’t be possible to run without the committed support of our Awards committee and our sponsors, especially Tamworth Regional Council,” Mr Sweeney went on to say. Tamworth Regional Council Mayor, Councillor Russell Webb expressed his enthusiasm for this year’s Awards saying, “Tamworth Regional Council is committed to working with local business to support regional development, realise opportunity and drive economic growth. “By supporting the Quality Business Awards, we can shine a light on the diverse talents and contribution of the business community in the realising our vision for population growth and greater regional prosperity. “If local business succeeds, we all succeed. Afterall, local businesses employ local people. They support traineeships and apprenticeships, not to mention they support local charities and sporting groups. “As Tamworth Regional Council joins the Business Chamber in calling for nominations, I encourage everyone to support the 2024 Quality Business Awards and again make the Awards night gala on Friday 6 September, a highlight of this year” said Councillor Webb.
All businesses in the Tamworth Regional local government area are eligible to be nominated for the 2024 Quality Business Awards and community members can nominate online at www.tamworth.org.au or by calling 6766 4810. Once finalists are announced, the community will be called upon again to vote for the “People’s Choice Award”.
Nominations close Friday 19 July, with winners crowned at the 2024 Quality Business Awards gala dinner on Friday, 6 September at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Convention Centre.
